Thursday 2/15 Hebrews 2 Part 3 - Jesus relates to us

We have spent a lot of time in Chapter 2 - What part spoke to you the most and why?

How can Jesus, as God himself, be made perfect?  What does the writer mean by this phrasing in verse 10?

In verse 11, the writer quotes from the 22nd Psalm.  What verse from that Psalm did Jesus pray from his cross? What is significant about the truths being conveyed in v. 1 and v.22 of the 22nd Psalm as it relates to this passage of Hebrews?

He is our hero, bringing us to glory. He is our liberator, freeing us from the bondage of the fear of death. He is our high priest making atonement for our sins. Which of these helps spur your faith on during hard times the most? Explain.

Look back over 2:10-18. Discuss everything that this section tells us about the nature of our relationship with Jesus. About how he draws us near and how he chose to relate to us!

Prayer: Do you see a Jesus who relates to you? Who draws near to you? Who has freed you from fear? Take some time to pray for someone else that you might share this good news with or simply share this devotional with.
